1. Work Smarter

We realise that it's important for any business to be working smarter. In an increasingly complex world employers and employees have to strive to use their resources effectively; one to gain better productivity, the other to balance work-life pressures.

Third Star has already adopted a number of smarter working practices to achieve this aim. We offer flexible hours to our staff, enabling them to work the hours that suit them. We provide the necessary infrastructure to enable our staff to work from home remotely.

This helps cut down on the frustrating commute to the office in the rush hour and makes it a much less stressful part of the day. We have the technologies and plans in place to make our lives easier in and away from the office. Since technology is not restrictive, we can work on a regional platform and support rural communities, where employment and education opportunities are difficult to find.

 Third Star always aims to get it right first time, and if we don't we make sure you have told us where we can improve.  With your help we can ensure continuing professional development of our staff and services.


2. Care about the Environment

Third Star is very keen to reduce the overall environmental impact we make as a Company. We take measures in many areas to achieve this aim. One such example is by reducing the number of physical journeys we carry out by increasing our Public transport usage and reducing our car mileage expenses. In order to further our environmental aims, we make a commitment to recycling and to paper free business activities.

We ensure that we follow the European Directive in the disposal of any electrical equipment and recycle or reuse items wherever possible.


3. Supporting local communities and individuals to develop and achieve

We feel it's very important to contribute to and support our local community and yours! Communities are only as strong and vibrant as the individuals living within them. We support communites and individuals in a number of ways:

  • We are a learning provider delivering training and NOCN/City and Guilds accredited qualifications.
  • We are a social enterprise. Surplus funds are always poughed back into the organsiation to ensure we ALWAYS make a difference to the individuals and communities we work with.
  • We support Third Sector Employers and individuals (in education, employed, volunteers or unemployed) to develop workforce skills, work smarter and be productive.
  • We invest our funds to provide education and training, resources, activities and rewards to individuals working and learning in the Third Sector,
  • We are supported in our mission to increase the number of young people earning and learning in the Third Sector by Fair Train and Enable.
